Melanotan II is a synthetic analog of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). It was originally developed at the University of Arizona for skin cancer prevention through tanning without UV exposure. Research has also explored its effects on sexual function and appetite suppression. It is NOT FDA-approved for any use.

Oxytocin is a naturally occurring nonapeptide hormone produced in the hypothalamus. FDA-approved (Pitocin®) for labor induction and postpartum hemorrhage management. Research also explores its roles in social bonding, trust, anxiety reduction, and various neuropsychiatric conditions.

PT-141 (Bremelanotide, brand name Vyleesi®) is a synthetic melanocortin peptide and MC4 receptor agonist. It is FDA-approved for the treatment of hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in premenopausal women. Unlike PDE5 inhibitors, it works through central nervous system pathways rather than vascular mechanisms.
