Overview

Tesamorelin (brand name Egrifta®) is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH). It is FDA-approved for the reduction of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy. It stimulates the pituitary gland to produce growth hormone.
